Kalamo Highway over Interstate 69 to close for 3 weeks for bridge construction

CHARLOTTE — Kalamo Highway will be closed over Interstate 69 in Charlotte starting Monday for construction. 

The highway will remain closed throughout construction, which is set to end Nov. 15. Traffic will be detoured onto Cochran Avenue, M-50 and Brookfield Road, according to the Michigan Department of Transportation. 

Construction includes patching on the bridge deck and expansion joint replacement. 

The highway construction is part of the I-69 reconstruction project between Charlotte and Marshall.
