75% of U.S. soybeans, 60% of corn harvested

The 2020 U.S. corn and soybean harvests continued their advance last week.

Weather was generally favorable for activity in most key U.S. growing areas and while some near-term delays are probable this week, many areas are still expected to be able to make progress.

As of Sunday, 60% of U.S. corn is harvested, compared to 41% a week ago and the five-year average of 43%, with 97% of the crop mature, compared to 94% on average, and 61% of U.S. corn rated good to excellent, steady with last week.

75% of soybeans are harvested, compared to 61% the week before and 58% on average, and 97% have dropped leaves, compared to the usual rate of 95%.

77% of winter wheat has been planted, compared to 72% normally in mid-October, and 51% has emerged, compared to 48% on average.

34% of cotton is harvested, matching the five-year average, with 93% of bolls opened, compared to 89% on average, with 40% of the crop in good to excellent shape, unchanged on the week.

91% of rice is harvested, compared to the typical pace of 93%.

20% of U.S. pastures and rangelands are called good to excellent, a week to week decline of 2%.
