County Clerk's office hosts mobile voting event in Tularosa, Cloudcroft next week

"These are the best numbers we've ever seen," Otero County Clerk Robyn Holmes said of early absentee and in-person voting turnout.

Holmes said she was "thrilled" that the event saw among the highest voter turnout in Tularosa.

The next mobile voting event will be at Cloudcroft Council Chambers from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Oct. 24.

Election Day voting

Voter Convenience Centers in Otero County include Sgt. Willie Estrada Memorial Civic Center in Alamogordo, Tays Special Events Center in Alamogordo, Otero County Fairgrounds, Tularosa Public Safety Facility Courtroom, Chaparral Community Center, La Luz Elementary School, Mescalero Community Center, Cloudcroft Council Chambers, James Canyon, Mayhill, Weed, Pinon, Timberon and Boles Acres.

Voter Convenience Centers are open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. on Election Day Nov. 3.

Otero County also has absentee voting and early voting options.

The last day to request an absentee ballot to be mailed is Oct. 20.

Absentee voting in-person will be held in the Otero County Administration Building room 101 from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday through Friday from Oct. 6 through Oct. 30 and from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Oct. 31.To check voter registration visit the Secretary of State's Voter Information Portal.

Early voting locations are the Otero County Fairgrounds from 10 a.m. through 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday Oct. 17 through Oct. 31; Inn of the Mountain Gods from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Oct. 28 though Oct. 30 and Chaparral Community Center from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Oct. 30 through Oct. 31.

Absentee/early voting by the numbers

Otero County has had 6,268 total absentee ballots requested and 6,798 voters have voted either in-person or by absentee ballot.

Of those, 2,403 Democrats have either submitted an absentee ballot or voted early in-person.

So far 3,407 Republicans have either submitted an absentee ballot or voted early in-person.
