A self-represented litigant has been arrested on charges that he allegedly threatened to carry out a “death sentence” against a U.S. District Court judge for the District of New Jersey after becoming impatient with the slow progress of the litigation.

The judge is not identified in the complaint or in statements from the U.S. Attorney’s Office, but a check of the federal court docket indicates the target of the threats is U.S. District Judge Claire Cecchi.
