SC Highway Patrol investigating deadly hit-and-run in York County

Authorities said a driver struck and killed a pedestrian early Sunday morning on US 21 at Regent Parkway near Fort Mill.

YORK COUNTY, S.C. — One person was killed after a hit and run in York County Sunday, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

Authorities said a driver struck and killed a pedestrian early Sunday around 4:30 a.m. on US 21 at Regent Parkway near Fort Mill.

Authorities have not released the victim's name at this time.

Troopers believe the vehicle involved was a black 2004-2010 5-series BMW. The driver is thought to have headed north on US-21 toward Interstate 77 and the Carowinds area.
