Hann arrested for alleged child rape

Jay E. Hann, Jr., 33 of Alamogordo, was arrested Friday, Oct. 9 and charged with two counts of criminal sexual contact of a minor and aggravated indecent exposure.

A criminal complaint against Hann was filed Oct. 6.

Alamogordo Police and Otero County Sheriff's Office were called to Gerald Champion Regional Medical Center where a 4-year-old girl was being treated. Investigators were told the girl was a possible victim of sexual assault.

An emergency safe house interview was set up once the girl was discharged from the hospital. During the interview she allegedly told law enforcement that Hann had touched her private parts numerous times, according to court documents.

The girl also told law enforcement that she had touched Hann's penis, court records state.

A hearing to determine pre-trial detention was set for Oct. 16.
