Election 2020: Where's my mail-in ballot?

Have you been checking your mailbox daily for your mail-in ballot?

It depends on which county you live in whether you should receive it any day now.

York County planned to start mailing its ballots Wednesday, spokesman Mark Walters said on Wednesday.

Other counties started earlier.

Lebanon County started mailing them on Friday, and Franklin County began on Sept. 28, according to the election offices.

The security envelope is shown at top. The ballot should be placed in it before it is placed in the signed mailer envelope.

Adams County has a prerecorded message for voters who call in with that question.

"Ballots are here, and we have begun to mail them out," it states.

With less than a month until the Nov. 3 election, some voters have been wondering when their ballots will arrive. Ed Van Wicklen of York Township is one.

Van Wicklen said he has been checking the status of his ballot through www.votespa.com. He will be unable to go to the polls on Nov. 3 because he is having a medical procedure.

Van Wicklen said he's concerned about whether his ballot will arrive in time for him to fill it out and return it.

During the primary, he received his ballot at the last minute and had to drive to a post office to mail it in time.

"The only thing I can do is hope for the best," he said recently.

Time is running out for anyone who has not registered to vote or has not requested a mail-in ballot.

Oct. 19 is the last day to register to vote, and Oct. 27 is the last day to apply for a mail-in or absentee ballot.

To register to vote or to request a mail-in or absentee ballot, visit www.votespa.com or contact your county elections office.
