Yep, it's time to throw in the towel and crank up the furnace. It is afterall, the lasts day of summer.

Forecasters are warning of the first frost of the season in Pennsylvania after a fall-like airmass spread over the area Friday.

A frost advisory for central Pennsylvania will last from 1 a.m. to 9 a.m. Monday. Temperatures as low as 32 degrees could hit the region, according to the National Weather Service.

"Frost could kill sensitive outdoor vegetation if left uncovered," the National Weather Service said. "Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold."

During the day Saturday, temperatures were cool and blustery, with highs only reaching the low to mid 60s throughout Pennsylvania.

Temperatures will become "quite chilly" at night across the state, and by Monday morning, lows will dip to 35 degrees in York, 40 degrees in Chambersburg, and 37 degrees in Lebanon.

The first day of fall is on Tuesday and it will most certainly feel like it as we’re expecting morning temperatures in the upper 40s and for the afternoon it will be cool for this time of the year with highs in the low 70s.

"Our attention turns to the season’s first real taste of fall," the National Weather Service said.
