Authorities have identified the 16-year-old girl killed in a crash near Mobridge on Tuesday.

Emily Holzer was driving a 1997 Ford F50 when she lost control of the vehicle, which then flipped, according to a release from the South Dakota Highway Patrol.

Holzer and a 15-year-old male passenger were thrown from the vehicle, the release said. Holzer was pronounced dead at the scene, and the 15-year-old was taken to a local hospital and later airlifted to a Fargo, North Dakota hospital to be treated for life-threatening injuries.

A 16-year-old female passenger received minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital, the release said.

None of the three were wearing seatbelts, the release said, and neither of the passengers were identified. The crash remains under investigation.
