Two more South Dakotans have died from COVID-19, according to data released by the South Dakota Department of Health this morning.

The state also added 369 new cases, for a total of 2,946 active cases of COVID-19 in South Dakota. There are currently 153 people hospitalized with the disease, a new high for the state.

The two deaths were a man and woman, both between the ages of 70-79. One was a resident of Codington County, and the other Pennington County. COVID-19 has now killed 200 people in South Dakota.

Minnehaha County added 65 new cases, while Pennington County added a total of 34. Lincoln County added 21 new cases, and Brown County added 16.

Hughes County, where T.F. Riggs High School canceled classes Friday after dozens of students were placed into quarantine, had an increase of five cases. It's not clear if any of those cases are tied into a cluster at the Pierre Community Work Center, where more than 100 female inmates have tested positive.

Six percent of the state's hospital beds are occupied by COVID-19 patients, and five percent of the state's ICU beds are occupied by COVID-19 patients. Five percent of the state's ventilators are also in use by COVID-19 patients.

Of the 200 deaths reported in South Dakota, 161 are over the age of 60. Ninety-five are over the age of 80. There have been two deaths reported in the 20-29 age range, seven 30-39, 10 in the 40-49 age range and 20 between the ages of 50-59.
