Six MO producers chosen for Value-Added USDA grants

The Missouri Director of USDA Rural Development says 700-thousand dollars will be invested to help six ag producers in the state develop new products and expand their business lines.

Jeff Case says the funding is through the Value-Added Producer Grant program and grants are awarded through a national competition.

The state recipients chosen will use the money for a pasture-raised beef operation, wine production at a vineyard, processing and marketing of cheese, mulch and animal bedding, and a distillery at a family farm in Missouri.
