Wishful Honey Balm Jelly Moisturiser

[unpaid/sample/ad/affiliate] This has been sitting on my desk for a few weeks now and – as has happened before – I’m kicking myself for not getting to it a bit sooner. If you like a glowy, dewy skin look, it’s for you and it really is the perfect product for these last days of summer.

Wishful Honey Balm is packed with iridescence but in the format it’s in, you don’t get a high beam gleam all over your face, but rather, a consistent ‘uplit’ look with highlights where the light naturally hits your face (so, cheekbones, for example). Combined with the balm format, it’s the closest thing to the Korean glass skin trend that I’ve ever got to and it doesn’t look strange – just rather lovely.

In the swatch picture you can see both the balm element and the iridescence but don’t worry, it doesn’t stay like that – it dials nicely down after a while to something that’s just fresh and hydrated looking with some extra light. A tip, in my experience, is to not put it on your nose – a gorgeous glow emanating from the cheeks is one thing, you don’t necessarily want it on your nose… or at least I didn’t, and regretted not thinking that through. Similarly, if you are prone to oil, steer clear – sheen on shine might well be too much of a good thing. There is a slight ‘perfecting’ element to this – your skin on a good day look rather than the pore banishing implied – and the formula contains lavender, honey, niacinamide and turmeric. I really do like this a lot, specifically for days when you feel generally dull – it’s a picker-upper.
