Central Pa. warned of possible tornadoes, severe thunderstorms through Friday afternoon

The National Weather Service has issued thunderstorm and tornado warnings for various areas of central Pa.

A tornado warning had been in effect for parts of Cumberland and Adams counties until 3 p.m. Quarter-sized hail is also possible.

Severe thunderstorm warnings, which means people should act now, were in effect for Lebanon County until 3:45 p.m. and parts of Adams and York counties until 4 p.m.

A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for most of central Pa. until 8 p.m. Penny-sized hail is possible and wind up to 60 mph is possible. Counties in the watch include Adams, Cumberland, Franklin, Dauphin, Lancaster, Lebanon, Perry and York.

Residents can expect damage to trees, roofs and siding.
