A Sioux Falls woman was arrested after police say she assaulted another person after refusing to leave a bar in western Sioux Falls.

Nichole Michelle Wicks, 36, was charged with failure to vacate and aggravated assault after she allegedly hit another woman in the head with with a beer bottle around 1:30 a.m. Sunday at the Gateway Lounge near 41st Street and Interstate 29, said police spokesman Sam Clemens.

Police search for suspects in weekend vehicle robberies

Police are searching for suspects in two separate vehicle robberies over the weekend, Clemens said.

The first incident was around 11 p.m. on Friday on the 5000 block of West Equestrian Place. Officers responded to a report of a 24-year-old man who said he was assaulted in an apartment parking lot, Clemens said.

The victim said two men approached him as he waited in the parking lot and then started punching him through the driver- and passenger-side windows. The men pulled him out of the vehicle and stole his car, Clemens said.

An officer spotted the vehicle later and tried to pull the driver over for a traffic stop, but the vehicle took off, Clemens said. The vehicle was found abandoned later near Sixth Street and Cocketiel Place.

The second incident occurred near 57th Street and Louise Avenue, Clemens said.

When the victim parked at a nearby apartment complex he was hit in the head and his vehicle was stolen, Clemens said. He didn't report any serious injuries to police, and there are no details on the suspects.
