MU researching new herbicides

Researchers at the University of Missouri are running trials on new corn and soybean herbicides in addition to established herbicides on the market.

In the latest online field day video, Senior Researcher Brian Dintelman says they’re looking into a couple of soybean herbicides expected to be approved for use by growers NEXT year.

“So we are evaluating a new premix from Syngenta containing Boundary and First Rate which is giving us broad spectrum weed control and significant benefits over Boundary by itself,” and, “Engenia and Engenia Prime, which should be coming soon from BASF. These are dicamba plus residual containing products.”

Dintelman says Mizzou Weed Science is also researching some of the new commercially available soybean herbicides, including Valence Perpetuo, Elite 27 and Tavium.

Results of the field research will be available here when completed.
