Free 5th-6th grade curriculum focuses on managing food waste

Illinois EPA and the University of Illinois have partnered to create a junior high science curriculum focused on reducing food waste.

The unit called Where does my food go? is the second installment in the agency’s Environmental Pathways curriculum for 5th and 6th graders. It aims to guide students through the process of food waste, brings awareness to the environmental issue and encourages them to create solutions.

The unit is designed for in school or at home use for educators and parents. Click here to access the free curriculum.
