[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] I’ve been meaning to post about this for at least three weeks but kept getting distracted until I had a salutary reminder yesterday when I burnt my feet. I can’t believe it – my only excuse is that it was cloudy when I set out walking and I just didn’t think to put anything on my feet. I always have a bit of a FitFlop line so my feet are ruined for any other summer sandals but now it’s intense!

La Roche Posay Anthelios 50+

If only I’d had this little skin saver in my jeans pocket! Lucy has really sensitive skin that doesn’t like sunscreen but she’s been using this for sport because it’s so sweat resistant and her skin has tolerated it really well. I’m always keen to flag up sunscreens that work well on sensitive skin because it’s been such an issue for us over the years. The Invisible Spray, sure enough, is invisible once on, but it’s not an aerosol so you get a freckling of white dots until you rub it in. The spray, ideally, is for the body and the fluid for the face but that face size is so handy to just keep in your bag and do your emergency applications anywhere. Mostly, its appeal lies in the lightness of the fluid with the assurance that it does the job – which it does. I’ve been doing some reading around the ingredient Meroxyl SX, which is highly effective at filtering out UV light, and it’s thrown up some interesting articles, including one from the New York Times fifteen years ago which talks about daily use sunscreen as a new concept to prevent ageing and pigmentation… imagine! It just goes to show how far we have come in attitude towards sun damage. Meroxyl was late getting FDA approval for some reason which meant that savvy New Yorkers were shipping Anthelios from Canada and anywhere they could find it in order to have access to its potency. Anyway, Anthelios is an easy recommend and you can find it HERE, non affiliate HERE.
