Police identify victim in fatal July Cliff Avenue crash

Sioux Falls police close off the intersection at North Cliff Avenue and East 6th Street following a fatal crash July 9.

Authorities have identified the woman who died in a two-vehicle crash last month in east-central Sioux Falls.

Zlata Korkutovic, 53, from Sioux Falls, was driving a 2005 Ford Freestar westbound on Sixth Street around 5 a.m. July 9 when she tried making a right turn to go north on Cliff Avenue. As she turned into the intersection, a 2005 Chrysler Town and Country ran a red light and struck her vehicle.

Korkutovic was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the other vehicle, Mariah Brooke Hagen, 29, was charged with second-degree manslaughter and reckless driving.
