Farmer says prices are a concern

Northwest Ohio Farmer Patty Mann says crop prices are a concern as the industry continues to be impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.

“It sounds like we’re going to have a good crop again, so prices are a little bit worrisome going forward,” she says. “I know we need either the bushels or the prices and if we can’t have both, hopefully we’ll have the bushels this year.”

Mann says she was able to take advantage of a boost in prices after USDA’s acreage report.

“There was little bit of bounce in the market there, so we did take advantage of those higher prices,” she says.

Mann, president of the Ohio Corn and Wheat Growers Association, grows corn and soybeans in Shelby County.
