China questions

The signing of the phase one trade deal early in 2020 was celebrated as an end to the trade war between the U.S. and China.  But as the COVID-19 outbreak became a global pandemic, tensions between the world’s two biggest economies quickly resurfaced. Now, the market is torn between Chinese purchases and ideas that phase one commitments can be reached, and rhetoric that suggests the trade agreement is about to fall apart.
