[affiliate/ad] So you can probably tell I’m all beautied out this week – just occasionally I feel a bit overloaded so I’ve been distracting myself by looking at dresses. I’m going to Paris in a couple of weeks to see Max who I haven’t seen since Christmas (he lives in Sweden with whom we have no air bridge) and just hoping that I don’t have to quarantine. But, if I do, I do – I need to see my child! August is notoriously hot in Paris so I’ve been looking for a dress to take that I won’t boil in while we walk around and for someone who isn’t particularly a dress fan, it’s been more of a search than I thought. However, I think I’ve found it.
This is exactly right I think (will wear with my black quilty Fit Flops) and it’s in such a light rayon fabric that it’s as near as I can get to wearing nothing at all while melting by the Louvre. Tiers are a bit of a theme for Hush this year – personally, I’m wary of tiers – it’s just one gathering stitch away from looking like a wedding cake – but this seems to flow nicely without any particular volume. The print is stars on khaki – I’m always drawn to stars and love khaki so, I’m pressing buy and keeping fingers crossed. It seems a bit late in the season to be buying a dress but I suppose there are two months of wearing opportunity left which is fine – and there’s always next year. Fab dress for the hot summer weather! Not too open, but not prudish either (the older I get the more I prefer some deep V over baring all legs and all arms)… Good luck with your trip! Fingers crossed for no quarantine/

One tiny detail on your dress here that I dig a lot is the cuff finish on the sleeves. So much more secure, as it were. I’ve a horror of flappy sleevelets, for some reason!
I think you’ll look absolutely perfect for Paris in this and your Chanel-vibe sandals. Appropriate and smart for everywhere you might wish to visit, but also relaxed and comfortable.

Thanks Cal! The sleeves are the one thing I’m hesitant about in case they dig in – I’m already mentally figuring out how to adjust them.
I love a nice frock and reckon you could wear this into a mild October with tights, vest and petticoats. I’m probably the only woman left in the UK who likes a nice petticoat.
Yes – easy to shove a jumper over the top and add some boots I think. Not sure I’d venture back to a petticoat but why not!

I bought a similar design from White Company a couple of months ago – tiered, deep V, but sleeveless. I too worried about the tiers – I do NOT need more volume around my bottom and thighs – but somehow it isn’t a problem.
I love it so much – it’s my default go-to every time I leave the house. If I were going to Paris I would pack it and one other dress I love and I’d pretty much be set! Great choice.
If the cut is right tiers aren’t a problem – they just sort of flow. You’re spot on about the packing – am planning a couple of dresses and one pair of trousers and that is it!
