18-year-old Jared Lee Laframboise was arrested on charges of aggravated assault and simple assault after allegedly stabbing a man in central Sioux Falls Wednesday.

A  21-year-old man is in critical condition after he was stabbed several times Wednesday evening in central Sioux Falls, police say.

Police responded to a report of a stabbing at about 6:30 p.m. near 11th Street and Summit Avenue and found the victim in critical condition. He was immediately transported to the hospital and taken into surgery, Sgt. Robert Forster said.

18-year-old Jared Lee Laframboise allegedly stabbed the victim after they got into a fight, Forster said. Laframboise believed the victim and another person were "plotting against him," Forster said.

Laframboise was arrested on charges of aggravated assault and simple assault. He was arrested earlier in the month for domestic aggravated assault on July 15, after he got in a fight with someone and cut them "pretty severely" in the arm with a knife. He was released on a PR bond.

Laframboise is now being held on a $200,000 cash bond for the stabbing.
