'Devastating': Priscilla Presley breaks her silence on grandson Benjamin Keough's death

Priscilla Presley is breaking her silence following the death of her grandson, Benjamin Keough, who died by suicide at age 27 on July 12.

Presley, the former wife of Elvis Presley and the mother of Lisa Marie Presley, said the days following Keough's death have been "some of the darkest days of my family’s life."

"The shock of losing Ben has been devastating," Presley, 75, wrote on Facebook Wednesday. "Trying to put all the pieces together of all the possible whys has penetrated my soul. Each day I wake up I pray it will get better."

The "Naked Gun" actress said her heart goes out to Keough's grieving parents: her  daughter Lisa Marie and singer-songwriter Danny Keough.

"Then, I think of my daughter and the pain she is going through as she was a doting mother," Presley wrote. "Ben’s father, Danny, who is completely lost, as Ben was his only son."

Presley opened up about Keough's relationship with his sisters – actress Riley Keough, 31, and twins Harper and Finley (Lisa Marie's 11-year-old daughters with producer Michael Lockwood).

"Riley, so loving and so close to him; Harper and Finley, who absolutely adored Ben," Presley said, adding that her son Navarone Garibaldi "struggles deeply with loss and death."

"Rest In Peace Ben, you were loved," Presley concluded her statement.

On Tuesday, Benjamin Keough's girlfriend Diana Pinto paid tribute in an emotional Instagram post, a day after his sister Riley Keough honored him.

Pinto broke her silence Sunday with a post to her "best friend" featuring pictures of the two along with a video of Benjamin frolicking in the ocean surf, beckoning her to join him.

One picture featured glass steamed up by a hot shower with the Benjamin-scrawled words, "I love you Diana."

"To the most beautiful boy I have ever seen. You make everyone around you light up the second you step into the room. You touch every single soul around you," Pinto wrote, extolling his love of Sunday morning cartoons and chocolate milk.

"Your laugh is heard all over the world now. You made me the luckiest girl in the world, to have you, to hold you, to love you and to be loved by you are the only things that have ever mattered," Pinto wrote. "You are my whole world and my whole life. You live with me now every day in my heart, in my soul and in my mind."

Pinto ended the post with a plea for support from Benjamin.

"Every second of every day I think of you, now I know the true meaning of grief. Please give me strength to keep going because I don’t know how I’m supposed to do this life without you," she wrote. "You will always be the love of my life, my everything."

"Mornings are the hardest, I forget you're gone," Riley Keough began her emotional tribute to her Benjamin on Instagram Saturday.

Breaking her silence on the death, Riley dedicated the post to her "baby brother" with a series of photos of the two laughing in happier times.

"I can’t cry because of the fear that I will never stop. A pain that’s new to me," Riley wrote. "There are no words for you. Angel is the closest I could think of. Pure light. Baby brother. Best friend. Wild man. Intellectual. Witness to my life. Twin soul. Protector. Too sensitive for this harsh world."

"I hope you give me strength to endure the giant hole you’ve left in my heart. I hope you give me the strength to eat. I hope you’re cradled in love. I hope you feel my love. I hope you feel god," Riley wrote. "I can’t believe you’ve left me. Not you sweet Ben Ben. Anyone but you. I guess this is true heartbreak. I hope we meet again."

Manager Roger Widynowski had stated that mother Lisa Marie Presley "is completely heartbroken, inconsolable and beyond devastated," about her son's death. "She adored that boy. He was the love of her life."
