It's not exactly the way most people say "Thank-you."

A male driver who gave two women a ride in his car was overwhelmed when the women and also two men attacked and robbed him of his vehicle last week in North York.

Just before 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Northern York County Regional Police spoke with the 27-year-old victim, who said he connected with one of the women by Facebook messenger.

He picked up the woman, along with a female friend, at a home in the first block of East 5th Avenue in North York. He did not know the names of the women, who were in their late teens to early 20s, police said.

The victim said that on the way back to drop off the women, one of them received a message from her boyfriend, telling the driver to bring her home.

"The victim advised that when he pulled up to the home on E. 5th Ave. to drop the females off he was confronted by two males," police said. "The males stood at his driver’s side door."

At that point, the women attacked the driver, punching and scratching him. The driver jumped out of his car, leaving the keys inside

"The victim advised the males jumped in his vehicle and drove his vehicle from the scene," police said. "The victim suffered minor scratches and bruises from the altercation."

The car, a black 2006 Ford Fusion, was later recovered in Harrisburg by police. There were three females in the vehicle at the time, but they were identified and released from the scene pending further investigation.
