When I first thought I'd like to seriously focus my energies on photography, I fell in love with the Flower Photography of Sue Bishop. To this day, I will say her images are some of the most beautiful I have seen of any subject, ever. I devoured her book Digital Flower Photography, envying the ethereal effects she's able to create. That was soon followed by her Photographing Flowers, and then Color Light & Composition. I encourage everyone to check out her image gallery on her website (click here).

I spent hours, days and weeks practicing - getting up early before the breezes began and before the sun got too harsh and high in the sky, lying on my stomach on damp ground in order to see eye-to-eye with my subjects. I humbly say that I did improve over time; however, my images are quite different from Bishop's. As I was sorting and key wording images in the early days of the COVID-quarantine, I noticed that my library of flower images is quite sizable, most of which I have never shared on Open-Window. So I've created this slideshow to share with you who are housebound around the world. I hope you enjoy it; these images bring a smile to my heart.
