Two people die in two-vehicle crash on south side; Milwaukee police investigating

Two people were killed and two others injured in a crash Friday evening on Milwaukee's south side, police said Saturday.

The crash happened around 9 p.m. at the intersection of South 27th Street and West Cleveland Avenue near Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center.

According to a police statement, a vehicle was turning left when it was struck by an oncoming vehicle that was speeding. A 52-year-old man and 50-year-old woman in the vehicle that was turning were killed.

Two occupants of the other vehicle, both 18-year-old men, were injured, one seriously, police said. They were transported to a hospital and were in stable condition.

Police did not immediately identify the victims. The crash remains under investigation.
