[unpaid/samples] It was always going to be a big ask for Aromatherapy Associates to produce a shower oil with the same qualities as their beloved bath oils. Nominally, you can use the existing oils in the shower but to be honest, it’s such precious stuff (and so expensive) and just not all that user friendly with a torrent of hot water pouring all over you that I’ve never (or not that I remember) used it in the shower. It’s 100% reserved for the bath. So, this has been a gap waiting to be filled for a long time.

These are different to the existing body wash, both in intensity and in formula (I always thought the body wash was a hand wash in disguise). Happy to say that these are generously fragranced with oils that will feel immediately familiar if you’ve ever used the bath oil.

Bearing in mind I am a big fan of the brand and therefore probably biased in favour because I’ve used it for literally years and never got tired of it, these really are proper treats that your shower will be all the better for and at £26 each, feel well priced. Running quickly through the notes because I am sure you are already familiar, De-Stress is petitgrain, frankincense and wild chamomile. Revive is juniper berry, geranium, pink grapefruit and rosemary. Muscle combines rosemary, ginger and black pepper (perfect after an early morning yoga session – yes, I am that person now 😉 ), and Rose is a blend of rose and geranium – lovely before bed to tip you into a state of relaxation.

I mean, really you could choose any one of them and it would somehow fit the bill because all of these targets are goals at one time or another. The oil-to-milk formulation stops it being slippy but still manages to have enough body, as such, to work nicely over the skin. Personally, I think the best way to use it is to apply to damp skin first and then enjoy the aromas as the hot water hits but I understand that’s a faff. You can also use it as a body wash in the bath so don’t be restricted by the title. The scent doesn’t linger on the skin in the way that the concentrated oil does which is no surprise as you’re literally blasting it off with water but the experience is delightful. You can find it HERE. I should add that the packaging is made from 50% PCR and 100% recyclable bottles.
