Driver critically injured in Monday morning crash at MLK, St. Joseph Street

LANSING – One person was seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash Monday morning at the intersection of South Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and West St. Joseph Street.

Lansing police said the driver of a box truck ran a red light on northbound MLK and collided with a car heading west on St. Joseph.

The driver of the car was reported in critical but stable condition at a hospital, Lansing Police Department spokesman Robert Merritt said. The truck driver was not injured.

Drug or alcohol use did not appear to be a factor in the crash, he said.
