Spearfish motorcyclist dies nearly a month after crash, authorities say

Authorities have identified the motorcyclist who died in a crash five miles northeast of Spearfish that occurred last month.
Around 8:30 p.m. on June 7, Braden Erickson, 38, from Spearfish, was driving a 2012 Harley Davidson FLHX eastbound on St. Onge Road when he failed to negotiate a curve. The motorcycle went into the ditch, and Erickson, who was not wearing a helmet, was thrown from the motorcycle, according to a news release from the South Dakota Highway Patrol.

Erickson was transported to a Rapid City hospital after the crash and died on Wednesday, the release states.
South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
