Tennessee crops: 62% cotton, 73% soybeans rated good to excellent

Tennessee row crops continue to benefit from timely rains.

Seventy-three percent of soybeans are rated good to excellent with 91 percent of the crop emerged and 19 percent is blooming.  Cotton is rated 62 percent good to excellent with 52 percent of the crop squaring and 16 percent setting bolls.  Corn is rated 73 percent good to excellent with 17 percent silking. 

Wheat harvest is nearly complete.

Sixty-five percent of pastures are rated good to excellent and they first cutting of hay is 94 percent complete.

Eighty-one percent of Topsoil and eighty-four percent of Subsoil are called adequate to surplus.
