This was the scene of a 2-acre brush fire north of Fillmore near Goodenough Road on Saturday night.

Fire crews responded to two major fires on Saturday night: a brush fire north of Fillmore and an abandoned outbuilding south of Ojai.

The brush fire broke out first around 10:30 p.m. in the area of the 1700 block of Goodenough Road to the north of Fillomre.

Firefighters arrived on scene to find a fire burning in a remote area approximately one-acre in size with a slow rate of spread. The fire was contained at two acres and was considered knocked down by 11:43 p.m.

No injuries or property damage were immediately reported as a result of the brush fire.

The second fire began soon after the brush fire was knocked down at 11:48 p.m. along Cañada Larga Road, which runs perpendicular to Highway 33 between Ventura and Ojai.

Firefighters described the building on fire as an abandoned barn or outbuilding. The building received heavy damage as a result of the blaze, authorities said. The fire was knocked down by 12:25 p.m.

The causes of both fires were under investigation.

An abandoned outbuilding along Cañada Larga Road caught fire Saturday night.
