Simi Valley police arrest two found inside vehicle reported stolen

Simi Valley police arrested two men found inside a reported stolen vehicle on Friday afternoon, according to authorities.

Police were first contacted at 2:17 p.m. about a suspicious vehicle in a residential neighborhood. Officers found the vehicle near Sycamore Drive and Highway 118.

Police made contact with the the driver of the vehicle, identified as Daniel Barragan, 38, and his passenger Martin Ibarra, 40, both of Los Angeles County. They were detained without incident. The vehicle was also found to contain burglary tools used to cut catalytic converters as well as methamphetamine, according to authorities.

Barragan and Ibarra were arrested on suspicion of possessing a stolen vehicle and burglary tools, conspiracy to commit grand theft and possession of a controlled substance. They were each booked into county jail.
