Edwin J. Kamp, 88, of rural Hamburg, IL passed away Monday afternoon (6-29-20) at his home.

Edwin was born February 5, 1932 in Kampsville, a son of Anthony “Tony” and Tillie Mae Sevier Kamp. He married Vernita M. Blackorby on August 28, 1955 at the Pleasant Hill Christian Church and she survives.

Edwin was a life-long Calhoun County grain and livestock farmer. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a member of the Kampsville American Legion Post.

Survivors include his wife, Vernita M. Kamp of rural Hamburg, two children, Lisa (Greg) Ringhausen of Jerseyville and Mitchell (Diane) Kamp of Melbourne, FL and a granddaughter, Chelsea Kamp.

Edwin was preceded in death by his parents.

Private graveside services will be held Friday at the Indian Creek Cemetery near Hamburg. There is no visitation.

Memorials may be made to the Indian Creek Cemetery Association.
