Erdman named ADSA President

The American Dairy Science Association has a new President.  Retired University of Maryland professor Rich Erdman moved from Vice President to President during the research organization’s virtual conference last week.

Erdman has served on the Journal of Dairy Science editorial board and is a past President of the Northeast section of ADSA and the American Society of Animal Science along with several committees and research projects.  He was a member of the National Research Council (NRC) subcommittee that wrote the seventh revised edition of Nutrient Requirements of Dairy Cattle, published in 2001 by the National Academy of Sciences.

Erdman was raised on a dairy farm and got his Animal Science degree at the University of Wisconsin River Falls in 1974.
