A Maryland man was arrested in Adams County for child pornography charges, according to a news release from the county's District Attorney's office.

Kamran Saleem

Kamran Saleem, 29, of Ellicott City, has been charged with criminal use of a communication facility, two counts of dissemination photo/film of child sex acts and two counts of child porn, according to court documents.

Saleem was unable to post his $100,000 bail. He is currently being held at the Adams County Prison and his preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 1, according to court documents.

The Adams County District Attorney's office was notified of a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children submitted by Facebook Inc. on March 16, according to an affidavit filed with Magisterial District Judge Matthew Harvey's office.

The video, which was shared via Facebook Messenger, contained pornographic material involving a boy approximately 10 to 12 years old. Facebook also provided verified information about the user including Saleem's name, email and phone number, the affidavit states.

Police then traced the IP address used to upload the video back to the business in Gettysburg Borough where Saleem worked, according to the affidavit.

Police also obtained a search warrant for the content of the Facebook messages shared at 2 p.m. January 25 in which Saleem sent two separate videos of child porn, the affidavit states.

On June 24, police served Saleem a search warrant for his phone and conducted an interview with him. Saleem admitted to police that he possessed and shared the videos which he admitted were "child exploitative" material, according to the affidavit.
