'AGT' recap: Sofia Vergara falls in her haste to get away from shocking eye-bulging rapper

Spoiler alert! This story contains details from the June 23 episode of "America's Got Talent."

"America's Got Talent" was almost down one judge.

"Unfortunately, Heidi Klum is under the weather and could not be here today," host Terry Crews announced at the top of Tuesday's episode.

The supermodel left last week's auditions, which were taped in March, saying she was "feeling feverish" and experiencing "chills," "cough" and a "runny nose," all symptoms consistent with coronavirus.Although Klum had a hard time getting tested, she later got a negative result for COVID-19.

But Sophia Vergara came to the rescue and "was able to pull a few strings," Crews added. She called in her "Modern Family" co-star Eric Stonestreet to fill in for Klum.

"My new family and my old family together," Vergara said.

Heidi Klum says she can't get a coronavirus test after 'feeling feverish' at 'AGT'

Vergara came to the rescue and "was able to pull a few strings," host Terry Crews said, after Heidi Klum fell ill during the auditions. She called in her "Modern Family" co-star Eric Stonestreet to fill in for Klum. "My new family and my old family together," Vergara said.

With all eyes on the contestants, the judges definitely didn't see this act coming.

Rapper Chefboybonez surprised and scared the judges with his "Poppin'" song, but it was what he did with his eyeballs that really caught everyone's notice.

"We gon get it popping right now," he rapped in front of the judges' table before he bulged his eyes out of their sockets, shocking Vergara right out of her seat.

"I can't look!" Stonestreet yelled. "They are still out! Put them back in!"

The Colombian star pressed her red buzzer and ran away from Chefboybonez's eye-bulging act. During her mad dash, Vergara tripped in her high heels and fell back into the audience, watching the rest of his act from a distance.

"I’ve never seen anything more horrible," Vergara said. "You are going to hurt yourself. How was I the only one that gave him an X?"

"I think there’s a market for this," Simon Cowell said. "I always say this: Without acts like you, we don’t exist. So I’m going to kick us off with a yes (vote)."

Howie Mandel voted "yes" and Vergara clearly voted "no." The decision on whether Chefboybonez advanced to the next round came down to a speechless Stonestreet.

"Eric, don’t betray me," Vergara implored her former co-worker. Stonestreet joked, "This is ridiculous. I don’t deserve this. Heidi deserves this."

"I’ll tell you what," Stonestreet added. "This is probably the only day I’m going to be here this season, so I’m going to torture the rest of you guys with a 'yes.'"

Chefboybonez jumped for joy after advancing and did a celebratory eye-bulge, to Vergara's horror.

He's "a baller – an eye baller," Mandel joked.
