Woman admits to shaking her 15-month-old daughter who died Sunday, police say

A Tyrone Township woman allegedly admitted to shaking her 15-month-old daughter, who died Sunday, according to a news release from Pennsylvania State Police.

At around 8:50 a.m. on May 29, Felisha Lynn Ellis, 26, called 911 and stated that she had dropped her daughter who was not breathing, according to police.

Emergency medical services responded to the scene in the 1000 block of Upper Bermudian Road. The 15-month-old was flown to Hershey Medical Center where doctors found she had "numerous, very serious injuries that were not consistent with a simple fall."

Ellis told police she was frustrated and upset so she shook the baby repeatedly. She said she had only gotten custody of her children in February.

The 15-month-old died on May 31. 

Ellis is charged with criminal homicide and endangering the welfare of children, according to court documents. She is denied bail because of the criminal homicide charge and is held at the Adams County Prison.

Her preliminary arraignment was June 4 and her preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 10.
