80% of Ohio corn, 66% of soybeans planted

According to the latest USDA crop and weather report, warmer temperatures and drier soils allowed for more fieldwork and fast crop development in Ohio last week.

Eighty percent of the state’s corn crop is planted, and 55 percent is emerged. Sixty two percent of the crop is rated good to excellent.

Sixty-six percent of soybeans are planted, and 42 percent are emerged. The crop is rated 61 percent good to excellent.

Ninety-five percent of oats are planted and 84 percent are emerged.
