38-year-old woman dies after her vehicle hits a tree on Milwaukee's north side

A 38-year-old woman died Monday after she lost control of her vehicle and struck a tree, Milwaukee police said. 

The crash occurred about 3:20 a.m. in the 1700 block of West Hopkins Street. The woman, the only person in the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said speed was a factor in the crash.
