Dr. Jason Galicia named medical director for Franklin Hospice

Dr. Jason Galicia was recently named the Medical Director for Franklin Hospice, according to a news release from the nonprofit provider of hospice care and end-of-life services. 

An Internal Medicine Specialist in Chambersburg, Galicia, graduated with honors in 2003. Having more than 17 years of diverse experiences, especially in Internal Medicine, Galicia affiliates with many hospitals including WellSpan Chambersburg Hospital and WellSpan Waynesboro Hospital.

As Medical Director, Galicia will play a crucial role in the care team. He will be responsible for ensuring that every patient’s care wishes are honored, that the hospice team is supported, and that the care goals set for each patient are being achieved.

“We are very honored that we have a physician from the Franklin County area with Dr. Galicia’s expertise,” CEO of Franklin Hospice Ernesto Lopez, said in the news release. “He will be a valuable leader for our Franklin Hospice Team which includes nurses, social workers, CNAs, chaplains, volunteers and bereavement staff. I believe Dr. Galicia will be devoted to helping our patients receive the highest quality of end-of-life care.”

Galicia completed his Residency in Internal Medicine at Morristown Memorial Hospital in Morristown, NJ. He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of the City of Manila in Manila, Philippines. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines.

“It will be a great pleasure for me to serve in a field which would greatly benefit this community,” Galicia said.

Franklin Hospice is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year to provide support. In addition to the regular hospice team, an on-call team is available on nights, weekdays and holidays.
