One man is in custody, charged with criminal homicide and another is dead following a Saturday afternoon shooting in Franklin Township, Adams County, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

State police identified the victim as 29-year-old Jessie Glenn Carbaugh and the homicide suspect as Wyatt Lee Rickrode, 26.

Police say the shooting occurred about 4:15 p.m. in the 3500 block of Chambersburg Road.

"It was reported that the accused (Rickrode) shot the victim (Carbaugh) after a verbal altercation," a news release states.

The release did not state the significance, if any, of the property where the incident occurred, nor did it mention why the two were arguing.

Carbaugh was taken to Holy Spirit Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Rickrode was arrested, charged with criminal homicide and transported to the Adams Adult Correctional Complex, police said.
