Wet weather slows field activities in Tennessee

Wet weather has slowed the majority of Tennessee’s field activities.  Although, drier conditions in some parts of the state has allowed producers to burn-down field in preparation for spring planting.  Just one percent of the corn crop has been planted but is expected to move into high gear as soon as the weather allows.  Fall planted wheat is 60 percent good to excellent and 42 percent of the crop is jointing.  Pastures are rated 56 percent good to excellent.

Topsoil moisture is ranted 98 percent adequate to surplus and Subsoil moisture is 99 percent adequate to surplus.
