Two 19-year-old men are facing criminal charges for violating Gov. Wolf’s stay-at-home order in Columbia County, according to police in Locust Township.

The two males, along with two other juveniles, were stopped while "out driving around to hang out" shortly before 2 a.m. Saturday, Locust Twp. Chief Allen L. Breach said in a release.

An officer saw the driver of the vehicle make several traffic violations and speed up a back road — possibly to avoid being stopped, he said. The officer also found vape pens and several cartridges containing concentrated cannabis oil.

The names of the two 19-year-olds will be released after charges are filed with the district judge. Other charges are pending.

The Locust Township Police Department said they take pride in using a common sense approach to violations of the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and local ordinance laws.

They are urging all residents in the region to follow the Governor's orders but said they "will not be out stopping motorists for compliance purposes, however, all are encouraged to use common sense during this pandemic," the chief said.
