Lansing area sees 27 new coronavirus cases, according to state data

The are 27 new positive coronavirus cases in Greater Lansing, totaling 275 known cases as of Saturday, according to data released by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services at 10 a.m.

Ingham County has a reported 168 cases, a single-day increase of 16. Clinton Country has a reported 54, up by 5. Eaton County reported 53, up by 6.

No new deaths were reported in the tri-county area. The total number of deaths in the area stands at four.

The statewide total of positive cases rose to 14,225 according to state data, cases increased by 1,481 and the total number of deaths is now 540, up by 61. 

Cases outside the tri-county area

Michigan Department of Health and Human Services data revealed how the pandemic affected other counties. 

The death toll climbed in Genesee County, which has 15 deaths and 464 cases.

Livingston County has 129 cases and 2 deaths. Shiawassee County has 22 cases. Ionia County has 6 cases. 

Jackson County has 81 cases and 3 deaths. Kent County has 153 cases and 2 deaths. Ottawa County has 39 cases.
