No bomb threat: Discarded pressure cooker found at Rutter's in Loganville, police say

State police's Hazardous Device and Explosives Section was called to the store.

UPDATE, 12:06 p.m.: Rutter’s in Loganville has reopened, according to Trooper Kelly Osborne. 

"The pressure cooker appeared to be left there to be disposed of," she said.

A Pennsylvania State Police bomb squad has responded to the Rutter's in Loganville on Wednesday morning after a pressure cooker was found near a gas tank, police said.

The staff at the store, located at 362 N. Main St., spotted the cooker and called state police, according to Trooper Kelly Osborne.

"Out of an abundance of caution for the public, the property was evacuated so the item could be safely examined," Osborne said.

State police's Hazardous Device and Explosives Section in Hershey was called to the store, she said.

At 11:40 a.m., an employee at the store said it remained closed.
