Soil moisture levels increase in Illinois
A wet March pushed soil moisture levels higher in Illinois.
The USDA says statewide, precipitation was more than an inch above normal, leaving more than half of the state’s topsoil and 40% of subsoil with surplus soil moisture, both higher than in February.
The average statewide temperature was three degrees warmer than average.
The USDA’s weekly crop progress and condition reports resume April 6th.
