RMA adds flexibility to crop insurance amid coronavirus

The USDA’s Risk Management Agency has loosened deadlines and other restrictions to help producers amid the coronavirus outbreak.

RMA is working with Approved Insurance Providers to give farmers more time to submit production reports and more time to pay premiums. They are deferring interest on unpaid premiums and other payments.

Producers can now send in information electronically to reduce the risk of face to face meetings.

The RMA is urging producers to call or email their crop insurances agents to get all of the details.
