2-year-old flown to trauma center after being hit by vehicle in Chambersburg

A toddler was injured after being struck by a vehicle Friday afternoon in downtown Chambersburg. 

The incident happened just before 4 p.m. in front of 223 S. Main St., which is just south of Washington Street, according to Chambersburg Police Department. Police determined a 2-year-old child ran into the street directly in front of a moving vehicle.

The toddler was taken to Chambersburg Hospital, then flown to an advanced trauma center. Police did not identify the facility. 

The child's condition is unknown, police said.
