T-Rex goes extinct on 'The Masked Singer,' is revealed to be young YouTube star

Spoiler alert! This story contains details from the March 25 episode of "The Masked Singer," including the identity of the eliminated celebrity.

And the "Super 9" is locked.

Wednesday's "Masked Singer" cut the four remaining contestants from Group C down to three with some help from "LEGO Masters" host Will Arnett, whose presence gave the show an excuse to use LEGOs for clues. Arnett joined resident sleuths Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy, Nicole Scherzinger and Robin Thicke. 

At the top of the show, the masked four united to perform Jennifer Lopez's "Let's Get Loud," while additional clues to their celebrity identities appeared on screen. 

Night Angel's read "Shhhhh. … I've always had faith," while Rhino divulged, "I do not enjoy long walks by the water." Apparently, Astronaut is "all for horses," and T-Rex will "occasionally party with Teddy bears."

Night Angel

Clues: Disco balls were prominent in the clue package, where tips were revealed by a friend who went to high school with the contestant. "Night Angel always had to juggle school with chasing her dream," said the pal, "so she missed out on a lot, like senior prom." But Night Angel refused to miss graduation, despite a work conflict.

After showing vocal range while singing "Shout" by The Isley Brothers, Night Angel revealed a connection between herself and a member of the panel. 

"Jenny, I'm saying your name because I've heard you saying my name often on your show," the contestant said. 

Guesses: McCarthy suggested Night Angel could be singer Toni Braxton, while Scherzinger is still betting on actress Taraji P. Henson. Arnett homed in on artist Janet Jackson.

Astronaut

Clues: According to Astronaut's "bro pilot," the contestant has leadership skills, but can also be "a total space cadet." 

His friend remembered: "One time, in front of thousands of people, (Astronaut) took a huge nosedive and fell flat on his face."

A bridge and a coffee mug with coffee beans were shown in the package, giving further insight to the star. 

Following Astronaut's rendition of "Shape of You" by Ed Sheeran, he attempted to jog Scherzinger's memory. "Remember when we were both together to celebrate a huge birthday?" he asked.

Guesses: Jeong envisioned Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder, while Arnett thought of former *NSYNC member J.C. Chasez. Thicke stuck with his previous prediction of actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

T-Rex

Clues: This participant's clues were given by her coach. "Let me tell you, she subscribes to the idea that there is no 'off day,' " the coach said.

"Even though she's young, she's got fans of all ages and always knows how to win over a crowd," the coach added. 

And if the clues package can be believed, T-Rex has a very fun life out of costume. A cluster of boomerangs and a plate of junk food seasoned with glitter were shown. 

The contestant performed "Jai Ho! (You Are My Destiny)" by A.R. Rahman and The Pussycat Dolls and then revealed how she and Arnett somehow share a tie. "'LEGO Batman' is how we are connected," the dino said. 

Guesses: Arnett thought gymnast Gabby Douglas put her spin on the track. McCarthy and Scherzinger were in agreement that T-Rex is YouTube personality JoJo Siwa, while Jeong pictured reality star Alana "Honey Boo Boo" Thompson.

Rhino

Clues: Rhino's college pal shared an embarrassing story of the first time the two tried surfing. He admitted they "were terrible," but said Rhino improved greatly. Rhino's friend described the competitor as "a total softy who wears his heart on his sleeve." 

On a map, a crown adorned the state of Missouri – a nod to the Kansas City Royals, perhaps? There were also three quarters shown next to an upward-pointing arrow.

Rhino chose "The Tracks of My Tears" by Smokey Robinson & The Miracles, and then he told Thicke, "Robin, we think alike. You and I are on the same track, literally."

Guesses: Actor Will Ferrell came to mind for Thicke, while Jeong mentioned "Baywatch" alum David Hasselhoff.

The elimination

It was the end of an era for T-Rex. 

Before the unmasking, the panel gave their final guesses as to her identity. Guest panelist Arnett suspected former figure skater Tara Lipinski, while Jeong went with host/YouTube star Liza Koshy. The remaining panel members – McCarthy, Scherzinger and Thicke – were locked in on YouTube personality Siwa. And they were right!

McCarthy shared how impressed she was with the contestant. 

"You know what, your hard work really paid off, ‘cause you were on fire, girlfriend," she told the 16-year-old.
