HERPOtherm® Review

- Sponsored Content - Winter is tough enough without having to content with a coldsore or two, something I am unfortunately plighted with on and off throughout the course of the year. Like many in a similar predicament I have tried various lotions, potions and frankly bizarre remedies with next to no luck, so when presented with the opportunity to try a quick and easy solution in the form of HERPOtherm®, I all but jumped at the chance.

If like myself you have ever encountered a coldsore, you will be all too aware of the dreaded tingling sensation that often occurs the day before it rears its ugly head. The good news is that irritating sign that something is awry is actually your chance to act with the HERPOtherm® and lessen the symptoms. If applied earlier enough the HERPOtherm® can prevent a blister appearing full stop and if applied after said blister has sprung, it can lessen the appearance by up to 50%!

As you can see the HERPOtherm® is barely larger than your standard lipstick so it is compact enough to pop into a pocket and yet it may just be your secret weapon against the plighted coldsore virus. I also think it is well worth mentioning that as this is not a cream or standard beauty product, there is no expiry date so no need to worry about waste and as it can be used over and over again, you are doing your part for the environment as well as blitzing coldsores. If that is not enough it is safe to use on kids (under 12's will require assistance), whilst pregnant and for allergy sufferers too. I also personally like that as this is not a topical cream, there are no tell tale signs of application nor greasy textures to contend with meaning you don't have to reconsider your make-up choices.

By now I'm sure you are wondering how exactly the HERPOtherm® works? The simple answer is by using the medium of heat. The HERPOtherm® concentrates a small dose of heat (local hyperthermia) onto the affected area, thus killing the virus beneath the skins surface before it has a chance to develop int into a blister - if applied in the tingle stages of course. This method may also relieve symptoms such as itching, burning, tingling or tightness as well as acting as an anti-inflammatory; as such making light work of all the less than pleasant signs and symptoms of a coldsore.

Using HERPOtherm® couldn't be easier nor quicker: simply place the device onto the affected area (before or after the coldsore appears), then gently apply to the skin. Press the button and ensure that the ceramic contact surface (the little white disc on the top of the device) heats up to around 51°C. To ensure you don't over apply, said heat temperature is only maintained for three seconds. The HERPOtherm® switches off automatically after the allocated time has passed so there is no need for a timer. As a little side note, for best results please ensure that you have full contact with the skin, even the smallest of air gaps can affect heat distribution. Do not exceed a maximum of five applications per hour on the same skin area.
